Mr. Richard Penn reports
Q PRECIOUS & BATTERY METALS RECEIVES PERMIT AMENDMENT FOR DIAMOND DRILLING LA CORNE SOUTH PROJECT, VAL D'OR QUEBEC
Q Precious & Battery Metals Corp. has received approval of permit amendments for road and drill pad construction on La Corne South project located north of Val d'Or, Que. The amended permit will allow access to primary targets for drill testing in winter 2025.
Diamond drilling of TDEM and magnetic anomalies in 2024 was successful at intercepting significant massive and disseminated sulphides containing copper, silver, zinc and gold, including the following (previously released Jan. 20, 2025, and Sept. 9, 2024):
Hole 24LCS-01
102.15-metre to 127.6-metre downhole depth, 0.83 per cent copper equivalent over 25.45* metres, including:
122.75 to 123.3: 4.2 per cent copper, 4 per cent zinc, 0.17 part per million gold and 30.3 ppm silver;
123.3 to 123.85: 1.9 per cent copper, 3.17 per cent zinc and 14.7 ppm silver;
123.85 to 124.4: 0.79 per cent copper, 1.3 per cent zinc and 7.33 ppm silver;
125.5 to 126: 2.61 per cent copper.
Hole 24LCS-03
104.85-metre to 112.75-metre downhole depth, 7.9* metres of 1.17 per cent copper equivalent, including:
108.75 to 109.75: 2.68 per cent copper and 23.45 ppm silver;
110.2 to 111.4: 2.66 per cent copper and 24.05 ppm silver.
* True widths of mineralization have not yet been determined.
Hole 24LCS-02 did not return significant results from core sampling.
The successful drilling of the TDEM anomalies at holes 24LCS-01 to 24LCS-03 indicates that conductive targets are of primary interest for further testing. The geophysics show a cluster of TDEM anomalies farther to the south. In particular, TDEM anomalies EMG-1 and EMG-2 are targeted for diamond drill testing. Maxwell plate modelling of these anomalies using Mircomine software indicates that EMG-1 and EMG-2 are located within the same volcanic deposition horizon that strikes generally north to northwest and dips to the east, with EMG-1 being at depth beneath EMG-2. The depth extent of these target anomalies ranges from 110 to 325 metres (TMC Geophysics, June, 2022, report). These are very attractive drill targets for continued drill testing. TMC Geophysics describes target EMG-1 as being caused by a bigger conductive body of deeper origin that possibly continues on strike for some distance to the north and south.
Explo-Logik Inc., located in Val d'Or, is managing exploration, including core logging and sampling at its facility. A total of 278 samples of core from the first three holes were directly delivered by Explo-Logik staff to the ALS laboratory in Val d'Or, Que. The samples underwent an ALS ME-MS61L process that uses four-acid digestion of pulverized samples followed by mass spectrometer detection for 48 elements, and process Au-ICP21 that analyzes for gold, platinum and palladium using fire assay. For quality assurance and control, Explo-Logik inserted blanks, standards and duplicates at one insert every 10 samples. The QMET 2025 winter drill program is scheduled and expected to commence in March, 2025.
